HAMLIN AND L.A. are a powerful duo with Jim Hamlin on guitar and vocals and L.A. on harmonica. They are located in the Tampa Bay Florida area. It is hard for people to consider a duo a "band" but with the programmed tracks that we use for backup music we create the essence of a "live" performance. All of the tracks we use were programmed by Jim. Remember the great tracks written and performed by Steve Winwood (Back in the High Life) or Gary Wright (Dreamweaver)? Our goal is to be able to bring the sound of a band to smaller venues and share some of this great music that we play and love. We only pick songs that we "like" to perform we do not just play lounge music but try and give the feeling of a "live performance" by some of the great groups that many people could not see in a small venue environment. L.A. uses a wireless mike and uses it to get the audience involved with the music. We are currently gathering material for a studio produced disc. Up to this point all of the tracks on this and our other websites were recorded from "live" performances direct from the mixing console. The "band" is serioius about making it in the music industry and is currently looking for venues to perform at to show their stage presence and charisma.
