PETERSBURG - Contractor Kori Monroe has a vision to provide a better life for homeless veterans in St. Peter's, and his next project, EDGE Animal Hospital, will officially open on November 5, it was announced today. EMPAD Architecture & Design, based in Clearwater, has led the project from day one and is responsible for the design, construction and operation of the $1.5 million, 1,500 square foot facility. Monroe began his career in the construction industry, building a number of high-quality homes for veterans and their families. To date, he has opened his first two homes, a home for a homeless veteran and an animal hospital.
Pet Care invested in the team by attending a two-week training session at the University of Florida Veterinary Medical Center in Gainesville. Learning involved a variety of medical procedures such as microscopic sample testing, blood tests and animal health.
