Your tour begins with an overview driving tour of the city's central historic region and walking tour. You will see or have photo stops for: St. Nicholas Cathedral, Theater Square,
Mariinski Theatre, St. Petersburg Conservatoire, monuments to Rimsky-Korsakov and Glinka, Yusupov Palace, - the Bronze Horseman monument, Menshikov Palace, St.Petersburg University, Admiralty, the main street Nevsky Prospekt, photo stop Sphinx, Kazan Cathedral, Gostinni Dvor, Alexandriinski Theatre, Anichkov Bridge with its 4 famous statues, The Rostral Columns, the monument to Catherine the Great just to mention a few.
Next, your first inside visit is St Isaac’s Cathedral whose lofty dome towers over the center of the city. Next get a feel for contempory and historic daily life by visiting a historic food market. There is free time for lunch in one of the nearby cafes. The lunch break prepares you for one of the highlights of the visit to St Petersburg; an extended exploration of Winter Palace and Hermitage Museum, one of the world's most prestigious museums, with over 3.8 million display items. After a tour of the spectacular state and private rooms, you will be given free time to choose which areas you would like to explore. Afterward, hop aboard your canal cruise. St. Petersburg is also called 'the Venice of the North,' and the tour includes a cruise along the River Neva and through picturesque canals.

Finish the day with a visit to the Church of the Savior on Spilled Blood. This iconic church covered inside and out with one of the most acclaimed examples of the mosaic arts anywhere in the world.

Afterward, return to your ship or remain in the city center for escorted free time, dining, or additional museums, shopping or performances.

Day 2: St Petersburg After pickup from the port, start the day with a city tour to the south. See the major sites of the palace estates including statues, monuments, rivers and canals, beautiful bridges, cathedrals and palaces, memorial squares and parks. Then see Catherine Palace, admiring the stunning, 1000-foot facade. Your tour will visit all the major halls and private rooms, and a particular highlight is the Amber Room. Enjoy free time in the delightful, small town of Pushkin. Dine (own expense), explore, take photos, shop or stroll its manicured parks. Then drive to Peterhof to visit Peterhof Fountain Park, built to rival Versailles in France. Peter the Great designed the 300-acre landscape, and you'll stroll through the lower park. Return to St Petersburg and take the Metro – which is an attraction in itself – to find out why it is known as the magnificent 'palace of the people.' Afterward, return to your ship  1 hour before departure, tired, happy and already missing your new friends in St Petersburg.
